About HGH Fragment 176-191
HGH Fragment 176-191 is the last 16 amino acids of the growth hormone molecule, isolated on the basis that the fat metabolising activity of GH appears to sit in that region of the chain while the growth promoting activity sits elsewhere.
The premise is straightforward: if the lipolytic and the anabolic effects of growth hormone can be separated by using only part of the molecule, then the fragment should influence fat metabolism without raising IGF-1, without the glucose effects that follow GH administration, and without the growth signalling. Animal work in the 1990s and early 2000s supported that separation reasonably well.
Human evidence is where it becomes complicated. AOD-9604, a modified version of this same fragment, was taken into human trials by an Australian company and failed to produce meaningful weight loss against placebo in a phase IIb study. That result is the single most important piece of evidence about this fragment, and it is not a favourable one. It is worth knowing before choosing it over a GLP-1.
The pen format
Fragment protocols in the literature are frequent, small and timed around fasted periods, which makes a dial far more practical than reconstituting and drawing. 15mg gives 30 full 500mcg draws.

Handling and storage

Choosing between the Fragment, AOD-9604 and a GLP-1
AOD-9604 is this same fragment with a tyrosine added to stabilise it, and it is the version that actually went through human trials. If you want the better characterised of the two, it is AOD. If you want more material for the money, the fragment pen carries three times the peptide of a 5mg AOD vial.
The harder comparison is against a GLP-1. Tirzepatide and retatrutide have large human trials behind them showing substantial weight loss; the fragment has an animal literature and a failed phase IIb. Anyone choosing the fragment for fat loss should do so knowing that the evidence gap between the two is not marginal, it is the whole thing.
