Composition & Dosing Guide

The NAD+ pen holds 3ml of solution across 300 units, so one unit on the dial equals 0.01ml. That works out at 166.67mg/ml NAD+. As a worked example, 30 units is 0.30ml, containing 50.00mg NAD+. About NAD+

NAD+, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, is the odd one out in this range. It is not a peptide at all but a coenzyme, and one that sits in every living cell on the planet. Its job is carrying electrons: it shuttles between an oxidised form, NAD+, and a reduced form, NADH, and that single switch drives a large share of the reactions that turn food into usable energy.

The research interest goes beyond metabolism. NAD+ is consumed as a substrate by two families of enzymes that get a lot of attention in ageing research, the sirtuins and the PARPs, which handle gene regulation and DNA repair respectively. Because those enzymes use the molecule up rather than simply borrowing it, cellular supply and demand becomes the story. Published work has reported that tissue levels decline substantially with age, and much of the current literature examines whether raising availability changes mitochondrial function, DNA repair capacity and metabolic markers.

Where the evidence sits: most NAD+ research uses cell models, animal models, or oral precursors such as NR and NMN rather than the molecule itself. Direct injectable NAD+ is not clinically established and holds no medicines licence in the UK or anywhere else. It is supplied here strictly as a laboratory research chemical.

The pen format

This is where SerenQ does things differently. Instead of a lyophilised powder that has to be reconstituted, NAD+ arrives as a solution already loaded into a graduated injection pen with a dial and a dose window.
