About Ipamorelin
Ipamorelin is a pentapeptide, a chain of just five amino acids, and it belongs to a class known as growth hormone secretagogues. Rather than acting on the GHRH receptor the way Tesamorelin does, it works through the ghrelin receptor, GHS-R1a, arriving at the same pituitary from a different direction entirely.
What made it notable in the research literature was selectivity. The earlier secretagogues it was developed alongside, compounds such as GHRP-6 and GHRP-2, tended to move cortisol, prolactin and ACTH along with growth hormone. Published work on Ipamorelin reported a far cleaner profile, with growth hormone release and comparatively little disturbance to those other hormones. It also produces a pulsed release rather than a sustained elevation, which is closer to the body’s own secretion pattern and is a large part of why it appears so often in comparative studies. Originally developed by Novo Nordisk, it reached clinical investigation for post-operative ileus before development was discontinued.
Where the evidence sits: Ipamorelin has been through early clinical investigation but development was abandoned and it was never brought to market. It holds no medicines licence in the UK or anywhere else, and there is no approved indication for it in any territory. It is supplied here strictly as a laboratory research chemical.
The pen format
This is where SerenQ does things differently. Instead of a lyophilised powder that has to be reconstituted, Ipamorelin arrives as a solution already loaded into a graduated injection pen with a dial and a dose window.
